While February 9, 2013, forced the Midwest and east coast to bundle up for sub-freezing temps, Pontiac fans in Central Florida were putting on the sunblock for postcard-perfect 75-degree sunny weather, which set the perfect backdrop for the 21st Annual Wide Track Warriors Car Show in Mt. Dora, a short drive northwest from the metropolitan Orlando area.

“We had Pontiacs attend from all over the great state of Florida,” says show coordinator Vicki Green. It was the long-running show’s first year with the folks at Renninger’s Antique Mall. The official count was 95 Pontiacs—from as long ago as a ’60 Catalina and as recent as ’09 Solstices and G8s, and with strong attendance from members of the Spacecoast Fieros, Sunshine State SolMates and SkyMates, and Florida G8 club.

“Our event gives Pontiacs from all over Florida and neighboring states the chance to show off their Pontiacs,” Green says. “In addition, we’re proud that 100-percent of the $25 show-car entry fee—approximately $2,000 this year—goes to Pet Rescue of Judy, which our club has supported since 2004.”
