There were 20 sponsored 8-inch by 12-inch resin oval engraved awards divided among the four generations, with five awards going to each generation class. The pewter and gold engraved ovals were awarded on the basis of judges' top scores after trophy winners. First-Gen Birds were not to be outdone and made their appearance in hardtop and convertible models. Judge Neil Silberkleit from Connecticut scored a beautiful example with a custom California paint scheme while bystanders watched with anticipation.

Mike Bagneschi, "The Hot Dog Chef," cooked up more than 340 Sabrett hot dogs for hungry Firebird enthusiasts, Special Olympics athletes, coaches, and volunteers.

A seldom seen color combination was this gold on Vibrant Blue '81 Trans Am owned by Keith Fuerst of Watervliet, New York. The T/A is a one-owner, numbers-matching, special-order car--fully original except tires.

This '96 WS6 Trans Am Blackbird...

This '96 WS6 Trans Am Blackbird Pace Car was used for the Craftsman Truck Series at the New Hampshire International Speedway. An '89 20th Anniversary T/A is to its left, and a pair of NASCAR Pace Car '81 T/As are to its right.

The show culminated in an...

The show culminated in an all-Firebird cruise to Memory Lane in Malta, New York. The Birds cruised the 55-mph Route 9 at the speed limit, and lined up as far back as the eye could see.
