2006 11th All-Pontiac Car Show - Western Pa Chapter Of POCI

By the end of the show season, many of us are either completely exhausted from attending as many national Pontiac events as our finances, constitutions, and families will allow, or we feel like we missed out because we didn't make it to any of them. Don't feel too bad because many chapters of POCI and GTOAA have a cure-regional meets. Go to POCI.org or GTOAA.org, and you're bound to find a club-chapter regional meet in your area sometime during the show season.

In my neck of the woods, the Western Pennsylvania Chapter of POCI held its 11th All-Pontiac Car Show, sponsored by Arnold Pontiac, on October 15, 2006, in Houston, Pennsylvania, where the parking lot near the dealership played host to 54 Pontiacs. Even non-POCI members could join in the fun.

There was quite the variety of Pontiac power, from pre-war restorations and street rods to post-war wagons, '50s chrome warriors, '60s and '70s musclecars, and luxurious land yachts from most eras. One advantage of events like these is since there is no pressure to please judges and no race or seminars to attend, the Pontiac owners and spectators have plenty of time to mingle. This means if you want to learn more about one of the participant's Pontiacs, most likely the owner is close by and will be more than willing to discuss its attributes with you. Though this event was not judged, there were participant awards (a '26 Pontiac radiator cap mounted on a base) presented to those who registered in time.

If the impressive gathering of Pontiacs wasn't enough to keep the family entertained, the Houston Pumpkin Festival was a short walk from the show area.
