Owner Bio: Rick Unterseh
Rick is 40-plus years old and has been racing for more than 10 years. He bought his Pontiac six years ago because "it was cheap, it fit well into NHRA classes, and I had help sciencing out the combo," he says. To date, his most unusual moment behind the wheel was his first trip to the track with the turbo Bird. "I blew a seal in the turbo and smoke covered everything from mid-track on. I couldn't see anything. The officials shut down the track thinking I blew up the motor."
When not racing, Rick is "divorced, with three kids, two dogs, two cats, two lizards, one turtle, one bird, and a fish, too. Oh, and I'm an announcer at two tracks in Arizona and race director for the Arizona Drag Racing Association." He has owned many Pontiacs in the past, and currently has a '69 GTO clone and an '81 GP.
