Les tells HPP, "The track conditions were windy with so-so traction. Even with 2.73 gears, the Firebird spun in First and the bottom of Second gear-backpedaling was the norm." After changes in tire pressure and timing, his best pass was his fourth, posting a 14.23 at 98.50 mph, thanks largely to a 2.01 60-foot time.
