Pontiac Grand Am

There have been five generations of the Pontiac Grand Am but despite the redesigns the car has been discontinued three times. The first break was after the 1975 Grand Am which ended the run of the first generation. When the car returned in 1978 it lasted only 2 years before being discontinued again. Five years later the 1985 Grand Am resurfaced as a compact car and was redesigned in 1992 and again in 1999 to enter its fifth generation before ultimately meeting its end with the last car rolling off the line in May 2005. The Grand Am was replaced by the Pontiac G6 but only time will tell whether the car will once again emerge from retirement.
