Would you believe this T/A started life as a brown non-WS6 Trans Am and became the May photo in HPP's 2002 calendar insert. Besides the obvious paint and wheels, a set of Fatman Fabrication tubular A-arms, chrome plated by Sun Plating & Polishing (LeRoy, Illinois) and Carrera adjustable coilover shocks complete "the look" and give Vulgar a new definition.

Mickey Thompson Sportsman I G60-15 tires wrapped around 15x10 Centerline Warrior wheels are found at either end of a stock 10-bolt Posi rear now sporting 3.73 gears. Up front are their 15x4 sized counterparts.

Chrome and polished aluminum allow this engine compartment to better accentuate the (mildly beefed up) 400 Pontiac motor. Notice the remote twin oil filters sitting against the custom firewall where the factory A/C unit used to reside.

Ghost flames on the topside of the 4 1/2-inch VFN fiberglass cowl-induction hood warns the competition of the Vulgar Display of Power that lurks beneath. Observe the attention to detail with graphics and flames on the underside of the hood as well.

Tweed and black faux leather material lend a soft appeal to the brilliant billet components and accents. Corbeau seats and Jeg's 6-point rollcage make the driver feel like he's got a nasty machine wrapped around him. Note the Pontiac arrowhead logo engravings in the dash and foot pedals. The B&M shifter has since been updated with a Hurst Lightning Rod shifter unit.

A Billet Specialties Thrasher steering wheel and Cyberdyne digital gauge cluster keep the driver in tune with the road and engine conditions. The billet fascia is just one of the many billet pieces that J&B Microfinish fabricated for Brett.

Despite the hard work and expense that went into modifying his first car, Brett is rightfully proud of his 70,000-mile T/A.

Without having to resort to tubbing the rears, the pro look was obtained while keeping the trunk fully functional to house a nitrous bottle and chrome-dipped stereo amplifier.
