This is the original carpet. Craig used masking tape to highlight where slits were made to fasten the seats, "T"-shaped for the rear and slotted for the front. Gibney says the slits in the upper, left corner were for the emergency brake cable and speedo cable. Tape at the sides (on the floor) shows the amount of overlap. The rectangular open areas under the seat were void of carpet, and the extension that connects the front and rear carpet located between the seat and doorsills were pieces of carpet taped to the main piece. Craig also noted that two different-length seatbelt bolts were used. Those at the trans tunnel had a longer shank to accommodate the thicker insulation. View Related Article
