A major setback was a fire in the garage that destroyed quite few parts and damaged the interior and rear of the Bird. Chris tells us, "It was painted in the fall of 1999 and during the New Year's Holiday. Early in 2000 there was a fire in the loading bay at work. The car was badly burned in the back end and all the good parts went up in smoke too. After the fire, the front end was torn down again to repaint the engine and fix all the corrosive smoke damage, which had rusted almost everything." View Related Article
