Perhaps the most famous of the Pontiac Retail Store parts chasers was this prototype ’59 Catalina Safari pickup. Built as a production proposal, it was ultimately turned down by Pontiac management. After that, the lone surviving example was put into service by the dealership. It was sold in 1969 to Darrel Lotridge, who began restoring it. More recently, it was sold to Tom Gerrard, who finished it into a POCI Points Judged Gold car.
