Down from a 122-inch to a 119-inch wheelbase, the '61 Ventura was shorter overall by four inches in length, and trimmed 180 pounds (from 3,865 pounds to 3,685 pounds shipping weight) for the two-door hardtop. It also featured a new perimeter frame to replace the X-frame of 1960.
