At the Goodguys Street Machine of the Year Competition in Columbus, Ohio, Frank raced the Firebird for the autocross portion of the show. After the event, professional driver Scott Pruett tested the vehicle, and the result was an 18.5-second e.t., matching the third fastest time for the event. "The Firebird autocrosses so well that we think it will be our favorite event," Frank says. Any further required safety equipment will be added to make the Bird legal to compete at even more serious road course events in the future.
Conclusion
Our goal was to build the best all-around Firebird ever made," Frank says. There certainly are Firebirds that are faster-dedicated race cars that excel in any one area-but I don't think any of them can beat this car in all categories. We built it so Lisa could enjoy it at Daytona Beach one day, Gainesville Dragway the next, and Road Atlanta the day after that, as well as get respect wherever it shows or competes."
"I feel it's the ultimate Firebird," Lisa says. "The final results were definitely worth the wait. Now I can enjoy my dream car."
