Kermit (right) and Dana Belcher...
Kermit (right) and Dana Belcher are the proud owners of GSC '10 T/A No. 0002. Before we did our track testing, they each took the T/A down the Gainesville quarter-mile track for its maiden passes.
Conclusion
Thanks to companies like Gearhead Street Customs, the dream of owning a 2010 T/A can be kept alive by converting 2010 and beyond Camaros into what the American public really wanted at their dealer showrooms this year-the same thing they wanted overwhelmingly from '77-'80 when Smokey and the Bandit lit up the silver screen with the adventures of a Southern law-breaking cowboy and his black-and-gold Special Edition Trans Am-"The Bandit."
Gearhead Street Customs plans 50 limited-edition T/As per year, continuing through the model life of the new Camaro. Base price starts at $54,900 for a V-8 T/A (including the cost of the Camaro 1SS used in the conversion). A V-6 version starts at $46,900. The conversion price if you furnish your own Camaro starts at $22,000. Gearhead Street Customs' 2010 T/As are available in any color combination. Gearhead Street Customs wants to thank the following companies and people involved in the GSC '10 T/A: Magnuson Products, Katzkin Interiors, Ritrama Films, Deco-Art, KW Suspension Products, Rob Collins, all the Gearhead Street Customs wrench zombies, and, of course, Kermit and Dana Belcher, owners of the GSC T/A No. 00002.
