7th Annual Bandit Run Confirmed For July 2013
Restore a Muscle Car (RAMC) announces Smokey and the Bandit director Hal Needham will be a special guest of the 2013 Bandit Run.
The event will also try a new route for its seventh year—Lincoln, Nebraska, to Golden, Colorado. The dates are July 13-20, 2013.
“We are excited to change it up a bit and take a Western route this year, and enjoy some beautiful countryside with the group,” says RAMC owner Dave Hall. “We have a gorgeous route, starting at our shop in Lincoln, traveling through the Black Hills, and stops at Mount Rushmore, the Colorado National Speedway, and the Coors plant in Golden, Colorado.”
Saturday’s schedule will include a car show, a barbecue, and an autograph session with Needham. That evening, Smokey and the Bandit will be shown with a Q&A session with Needham afterwards.
The Bandit Run is open to everyone, including those who don’t drive a Trans Am. The annual traveling car show offers an opportunity for Trans Am enthusiasts, fans of Smokey and the Bandit, and others to embrace an Americana-flavored and unique travel event.

Postal Service Delivers GTO Stamp
The United States Postal Service introduced Muscle Cars Forever, its latest offering in the America on the Move stamp series. The ’66 GTO was one of five American musclecars chosen for the first-class postage stamp.
“The musclecars gave everyday Americans the opportunity to experience the rush of driving a fast, powerful car,” said Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe. “Just looking at the stamps evokes a feeling of speed. As Forever stamps, they’ll always be good for mailing a First-Class letter anytime in the future. And when you think about it, that’s fitting. Because these stamps—just like the great cars they represent—are timeless.”
