The upcoming Mecum Chicago auction is one sure to be packed with incredible and beautiful automobiles. A 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge - one of 288 built at the Pontiac Oshawa, Ontario, plant - is one such vehicle. It is scheduled to be auctioned off on Saturday, October 12th, at 3:45 p.m.
In 2011, the GM Canada-documented Judge was subject to a meticulously carried-out frame-off restoration and now features NOS components. The car retains its original sheet metal slathered in the factory-correct Palisade Green hue. A beautiful Dark Green interior and 14-inch Ralley II wheels finish off the look.
Under the hood, an all numbers-matching Ram Air III 400 engine including an authentic 7040270 date-coded Rochester carburetor puts out 366 horsepower. The engine, which was professionally rebuilt this year, is combined with a console-shifted 3-speed automatic transmission.
