West Virgina Track Battle - Pontiac Pavement Pounders

OWNER BIO: VANCE HECK
51-year-old Vance Heck, who hails from Marion, Ohio, has his brother P.J. to thank for his attraction to powerful Pontiacs. P.J. owned Ponchos when Vance was growing up, and to say that this little brother followed in P.J.'s footsteps would be putting it lightly. Vance has owned three 1962 Pontiacs, a '61 SD aluminum bumper example, a '63 Royal SD, and currently owns the only existing aluminum 1963 Pontiac frame! We were duly impressed with his automotive-based playthings, but photos of sizable machine guns (including Gatlings!) and model train collections proved that this man really loves his toys!

OWNER BIO: JOHNNY DUNCAN
62-year-old Johnny Duncan is another veteran racer in our group--34 years of running flat-out is longer than a few of HPP staffers' lives! Duncan has owned a variety of Ponchos in his life: a '64 LeMans, a '68 Firebird, a '71 Firebird, a '73 Firebird, and an '80 Firebird were around before John decided to upgrade to a newer-style Bird. This late-model had the look of a Pro Stocker, and Duncan entrusts Tom Beasley to do the driving duties for this NHRA and IHRA GTF Auto and GT Auto Pontiac.
