West Virgina Track Battle - Pontiac Pavement Pounders

OWNER BIO: TIM WADE
Hurricane, West Virigina resident Tim Wade is 42, and 19 of those years have been spent trying to eke the most out of whatever he was pushing down the racetrack at the time. Tim was influenced by his dad's and older brother's trips to Riverside Dragway in Ohio in the 1970s, so it was almost a given that he would buy his Bird in 1980 because he liked the body style. Wade built it to its present blissful state because "it wasn't a Chevy," and has had several great experiences in the '68, from meeting his wife Shirley in it to winning 1st place at River Cities Raceway in Kentucky.

OWNER BIO: ALLAN SANDY
51-year-old Sandy readily admits that he loves "all Pontiacs--small, medium, and large." This 455-powered 1970 model may be his favorite year, and the fact that Belington, West Virginia-based Allan did a frame-off restoration on this original model doesn't hurt, either. Allan, who is a national show-winning builder of muzzleloader rifles, has also owned a '65 Goat and a '76 Firebird Formula 400.
