Five most important runs are listed in the order in which they occurred. Run Notes: 1) Good traction, hot engine; 3) Round-robin from previous, hot engine, Safe-T-Track is having issues; 5) Stiff headwind, best 60-ft time ever; 7) Same mph as previous run, consistent; 9) Bad 60-ft, but higher shift point helped, best e.t. and mph to date. Owner Bio: Jeff Sawruk Longtime... Owner Bio: Jeff Sawruk Longtime readers of HPP will remember Jeff's Pontiac from the Dec. '90 cover. He purchased it in 1987 because "I wanted a GTO, but insurance was high on a Goat for a 16-year-old (at the time)." Now 37, Jeff has put his 21 years of racing experience and his skills as an automotive mechanical engineer to good use in refining his first car to perform better than it ever would stock, while remaining "stock" per the PSMCDR rules. Jeff also has a '96 WS6 Ram Air Formula with a six-speed. "I ordered it with only four options," he told HPP. "It turns out it is 1-of-14 made." He's owned two other '69 Custom S's, a '73 Grand Prix with a 455, and a '75 Grand Am with a 455. | Strip Specs | | Year/Model | ’69 Custom S | | Race Weight with Driver | 3,858 lbs | | Curb Weight | 3,668 lbs | | Fuel Level When Last Weighed | 3/8-tank | | Fuel | VP C12 (112-octane) | | Engine | ’69 350 H.O. | | Cubic Inches Before/After | 354.7/364.8 | | Engine Built By | Jeff Sawruk with special thanks to Todd Robertson and Dave Zagaiski |
