Wayne Kennedy/Tyler Caughill

Wayne (shown on right), a 54-year-old employee at GM of Canada, who works at the St. Catharines Powertrain Plant as a GP-12 inspector for the new GF6 Transmission, and Tyler, a 20-year-old greenhouse technician, have been racing as a team since 2001. Wayne bought his GTO in 2005 because, “I wanted to retire our ’70 Judge from racing.” Tyler says the GTO is special to them because, “We were able to take a car that was basically nothing, and turn it into something.” Wayne also owns a ’70 Baja Gold Judge and an ’09 G8 GXP. Tyler also owns a ’98 Grand Prix GTP.

About Kennedy-Caughill Pontiac Racing

Wayne was in our Pavement Pounders Shootout in our July ’03 issue with his ’70 Judge. In 2005 he and Tyler began building a Judge-tribute racecar (with help from HPP Pavement Pounder Shootout alumnus Deryck Brown). In 2011, Tyler took over the reins as the full-time driver, and Wayne became the crew chief.
