Owner Bio: Bill Baker Fullerton, California, resident Bill Baker has been a GTO fan since he was a mechanic in Lake Tahoe back in the '70s. He got the chance to drive one and, even at 6,200 feet above sea level, the car was fast. "I ended up buying that GTO," he says, "and have owned three others and a Firebird, all '69s." The 50-year-old has been racing for five years and lists his most memorable moment in his GTO as the time he was, "showing off and had a axle shear at the bearing, launching the car airborne, skidding to a stop, and watching the tire heading down the street. All this with a crew of city workers watching." His advice today?
