Then the ring grooves and accumulator grooves are cut, the lands are stepped and the skirt is rough cut. If there's a dish, it's cut as well in a Okuma CNC lathe. Moe explained, "When an item is machined in a lathe, removed and later rechucked in the lathe for other cuts its very difficult to get it back in the exact same place.
