Paired stud bosses and pressed-in rocker studs were found on nearly all pre-mid-'73 heads. Material between the stud bosses was drilled and tapped and bolts were used to retain pushrod guide plates. Extra material was eliminated in 1974 to reduce material costs. View Related Article
