7a. Do Up through ’64 on most Pontiac V-8s except the GTO, the rockers were oiled via ports in the cylinder heads like this ’59, not through the pushrods like all later engines. To convert an engine to pushrod oiling, as will be done with this one, tap the ports in the block to insert plugs. Then use solid rocker studs, hollow push rods, and rockers with an oiling provision to complete the conversion.
