The painting technique used at the Norwood plant on the day this particular Firebird was built left many areas of the body uncovered by the exterior color. Gray primer/sealer is quite visible in several locations, and it is most apparent on the lower portion of the rocker molding. There’s literally no paint along the entire bottom! We also notice that in areas where the gold pinstripe is no longer visible, it’s simply cut flush as seen on the rear wheelflare. The original fasteners used to secure the lower portion of the flare to the body and their finish are readily visible from this angle.
