10 With the bracket in place, we installed the alternator into the March brackets. The lower mount used a 3⁄8x3.5-inch SHCS, and once started through the mount, we turned the threaded bushing until it was snugged against the alternator-mounting ear. The bolt was then pushed through all the way and a locking nut was installed on the back and tightened. The top mount uses an M8x1.25x33mm SHCS along with a special counter-bored bushing to secure the alternator. Not only is this bushing used to secure the housing, it is also imperative to the final belt adjustment.
