The instructions do not give much detail on how to remove the original pieces and install the replacements, but we found it to be nothing overly complicated. With our Firebird securely supported on jackstands, we crawled under and separated the lower linkage from the clutch fork. Then, using a pair of needle-nose pliers, we removed this retaining clip-which fastens the lower linkage onto the countershaft-and we had the lower portion disassembled.
