We crawled under the dash and removed the small clip that fastens the upper linkage to the clutch pedal, pulled it through the firewall, and removed it completely. Use caution, though, there is a soft rubber boot mounted on the firewall to prevent the elements from entering the passenger compartment. In less than 15 minutes, the original components were out.
