Launch Aid For Fourth-Gens
At times it almost seems like the vintage rides get all the fun suspension mods. Well, you Fourth-Gen owners don't have to feel ignored anymore. Hardcore Racing heard your requests for lower e.t.'s and is selling the same suspension system that helped put its own LS1 F-body into the 7s.
Available in Street or Race-only configurations and made of TIG-welded chrome-moly steel, several kits are available and include a torque arm with adjustable pinion angle; no-bind sliding link (no-bind 4130 rod end on Race Kit); bolt-in, adjustable crossmember; subframe connectors that bolt or weld into place; and a panhard bar that bolts to the stock location and is adjustable for accurate alignment at various ride heights.
These kits reduce deflection and increase torsional rigidity to ensure that the energy the engine provides on launch isn't wasted taking up clearances and compressing bushings in the suspension or twisting the body. The result? Lower 60-foot times. And let's not forget the added adjustability to further dial-in your combination.
Prices range from $1,582 to $1,711, and parts are also available individually.

SixShooter Trumps Tri-Power
For Tri-Power fans who yearn for a true high-performance tri-carb system, the wait is over. Triple-D Induction, a Barry Grant company, claims its testing has revealed that the SixShooter is good for up to 50 hp more than the original Tri-Power, and it showed increases over some current four-barrel induction systems.
Utilizing three 250-cfm Demon two-barrel carbs on a streamlined aluminum intake manifold, the center carb features an electric choke for easy warm-up on the street, but the modern technology in the carbs combined with the large ports in the aluminum intake provide a powerful punch. And since Demon carbs are used, tuning options are many. The system has provisions for constant and ported vacuum and even has a PCV port to make installation and hooking up vacuum advance, a trans modulator line, a brake booster, and more a breeze. A custom air cleaner with high-flow 3-inch-tall Rush Performance air filter and all required hardware are included.
Priced at $2,515.75, the SixShooter fits '65-'79 Pontiac engines.

Plant That Rear
You can build all the horsepower you want, but at some point, you'll have more than enough to overtax the stock rear suspension, and the excess power will just go up in tire smoke. When that happens, Dick Miller Racing can help with its new rear suspension for coil-sprung GM cars. Listed under PN 7028, this setup retails for $1,187.
The concept behind this system is to raise the rear on launch by way of plate-steel no-hop bars and lighter- and taller-than-stock rear springs, available for an additional $125, which in turn press the tires more firmly into the pavement.
Also included are double-adjustable upper (1.25 .083 wall) and lower (1.62 .083 wall) control arms made from 4130 chrome-moly. TIG welded in a jig and featuring 4340 chrome-moly adjusters and high-strength steel rod-ends, they are reportedly lighter than aluminum. Uppers can be adjusted for optimal pinion angle; lowers can be adjusted to position the rear relative to the wheelwells to allow for the largest tires. Diagonal links keep the rear centered, and heavy-duty rear triangulation braces eliminate rear crossmember flex at the upper control-arm attaching points.
According to the company, some low-8-second cars have this system installed, and it fits all GM intermediaries from '64-'88; the '64-'67 requires a spring adapter. Sway-bar mounts can be included.
