SLP is a pioneer in late-model Pontiac performance development, beginning with its Firehawks. One of the most effective performance parts designed for those cars were the after-cat exhaust systems developed as OEM equipment, albeit in a somewhat quieter configuration than the SLP aftermarket systems. The company offers three levels of muffling, all interchangeable on the otherwise same modular 304 stainless system. Different tips are also available, so there are many options to fit your tastes. The SLP Web site offers direct ordering, but we'll warn you, if you have a Trans Am, late GTO, or even a Grand Prix GTP, there is a substantial list of performance products for all of them. Chances are you'll find a few more items you can't live without, all from the company that brought us the Firehawk and GTX.

Stainless Works lists four different 304 Everlast grade stainless-steel systems for the '04 GTO, covering not only different muffler options but also a neat system that uses dual splitters on both sides behind the rear tires, echoing the classic configuration of the '64-'65 GTOs. It also lists both 3-inch and 3.5-inch inlet pipe systems for the LT1 Firebirds, but stay with the 3.5-inch for the LS1 cars. Stainless Works chambered mufflers appear to be loud and rowdy, but it also offers a completely stainless turbo-style muffler system to keep things a bit calmer, if that is your choice. The company has some nice long-tube headers for the late GTOs, but photos of its LS1 Firebird headers were not available and the description isn't very clear. SW does have some movies of the F-body and the GTO systems on the road in the Media section of its Web site. You can also purchase direct from the Web site.
