 Next, we took off the four...  Next, we took off the four 13mm nuts that retain the fascia to the Pontiac in the trunk.  Then we unscrewed the two...  Then we unscrewed the two Phillips-head fasteners on each side in the wheelwells. A small low-profile screwdriver like the one shown was essential in removing the fascia without taking off the rear wheels, thereby gaining access to the screws with a regular screwdriver.  Employing a friend, we gently...  Employing a friend, we gently pulled the fascia rearward to remove it, and then sat it on some soft towels to work on it.  We measured the location of...  We measured the location of the brackets relative to other feature lines on the stock fascia. Then we drilled out all the rivets that attach the two mounting brackets to the original fascia and set them aside. The foam impact absorber was replaced with the '05/'06-style, clipping on to the bumper.  Using the measurements from...  Using the measurements from the previous step, we attached the original brackets to the new '05/'06-style fascia with fresh rivets. With the new brackets attached, we reversed the previous steps and installed the new fascia. (If your measurements are spot on, it shouldn't need any adjustments.)  Now it's time to start the...  Now it's time to start the after-cat exhaust-system install. Since we're doing this portion at Stainless Works and prototyping the system at the same time, the photos may look a little strange, but the steps should be identical for end users. First, we raised and supported the Pontiac on a lift, installed the normal '04-style crossover pipe, and loosely fit the custom-made mufflers in the stock location. This is a straightforward process that requires little fanfare.
