Eaton calls for conventional differential fluid due to the composition of the carbon disc packs, so after removing the fill plug on the side of the differential with a 31/48-inch socket head, just under 2 quarts of GM 80W90 gear oil is inserted nearly to the fill line. Then the fill plug is inserted and tightened to 26 ft-lbs. The disc brake calipers and rotors are reinstalled, and the wheels are remounted.
