Rochester Carburetor Tuning How To Book
S-A Design's How to Rebuild and Modify Rochester Quadrajet Carburetors by Cliff Ruggles (No. SA113) is a must-have for a hobbyist's library. This recent release proved to be an excellent resource when we were asked to improve the idle quality and low-speed street manners of a Quadrajet-equipped Pontiac. It contains several tips and suggested calibrations for a number of different combinations. With a cover price of $24.95, the 128-page book should be available at your nearest major bookstore or favorite restoration-parts supplier, or it can be purchased direct from www.cliffsqjet.com.

Rochester Carburetor Tuning Rebuild Kit
A typical Quadrajet-rebuild kit consists of nothing more than a $25 box of gaskets and various small parts, but kits available from Cliff's High Performance contain virtually every piece required to properly rebuild and calibrate a Quadrajet for a specific application. Prices start at $119 depending upon the application. Contact the company for more details.

Rochester Carburetor Tuning Tools
Other than the basic handtools required for normal carburetor disassembly, we purchased a set of numbered drill bits and several single bits in various sizes from a local hobby store to measure the initial calibration and enlarge the restrictions of the idle circuit. A micrometer was used to verify the actual diameter of each bit.
