Building A Performance Pontiac Motor Running The Dyno
Gary Cygan mans the controls of the Stuska dyno. The unit is all computerized; even the gauges and various readouts are on-screen. (Note: A finicky thermocoupler caused an incorrect water temperature readout on-screen, so the temperature was read from the mechanical gauge on the dyno's water tank.)

Building A Performance Pontiac Motor 468Ci Engine
The 468 Pontiac began life as a passenger car 400. A 0.070 overbore and a 4.25-in stroker crank brought the cubes, stout induction pieces, and trick ported and chamber-modded Edelbrock heads, by way of Dave Bisschop at SD Performance (604-823-6624 or www.sdperformance.com). A big roller stick helps deliver the power. ARP studs everywhere, four-bolt main caps, plus a lifter bore brace keep it together. Check out the Strelka-Built custom valvecovers.
Building A Performance Pontiac Motor Holley Dominator Carb
This box stock Dominator was purchased over-the-counter at the local Advance Auto Parts using Gary Jr.'s employee discount (he used to work there). So far it's been jetted but no other mods have been made. The Victor intake has been heavily breathed upon, as you will soon see.
Building A Performance Pontiac Motor Hooker Headers
The dyno headers are Hooker Super Comps with 2.00-inch 36-inch long primaries and 3.5-inch collectors. EGT probes track the exhaust gas temps for each cylinder to help identify lean/rich conditions and provide an overall view of mixture distribution.
