Suspension
The suspensions have to be stock and cars should sit at or close to the factory ride height specifications. Springs and shocks (front and rear) designed for drag racing are prohibited. Replacement shocks can be of the gas-charged variety. We don't allow any visible bolt-on traction devices like ladder bars on coil-spring cars, and "slapper" traction bars on leaf-spring cars. We do allow the coil-spring cars to run Hop Stop bars because they're hidden. For leaf-spring cars, pinion snubbers and clamping the leafs are allowed.
Body
You only get one chance to make a good first impression, so logically we want nice-looking musclecars with good paint and bright work. The paint color, if not exact, has to be in close proximity to what was available that year. Cars with missing trim and gaping holes won't cut it. Custom colors, incorrect stripes, non-original decals and/or lettering aren't allowed. Some minor dealership striping is allowed, as well as regional promotional changes. Otherwise, everything has to be correct for the year, model, and horsepower claimed. (Sound familiar?) That includes the hoodscoops, sidescoops, front and rear wings, decals, etc.
Bumpers must retain all their bracing and reinforcements, as should the rest of the body and chassis. Removing these items to lighten the car is illegal. We do allow lightening of the car by deleting options like radio, heater, and sound deadening-if correct for the year and model.
Interior
The interior has to be in good condition and correct for the year and model. We do allow aftermarket engine gauges, as long as they're mounted to the steering column and/or below the dash. All cars must have seatbelts, at least for the driver.
