Pedders suggests that the Track II suspension system be installed by one of its authorized service centers. In addition to hand and air-tools, hydraulic presses, and spring compressors, Pedders provides its authorized service centers with proprietary tools to install its suspension kits. For this story, we'll cover the highlights of the Track II suspension installation on the G8. Because the base G8 and the G8 GT have identical suspension systems, our install and test is applicable to both.

A Pedders EP6560 first production... A Pedders EP6560 first production Front Radius Rod Bushing is checked before being installed. Previous bushing installations in the U.S. were handmade pre-production bits. The team makes sure the new production run will be a perfect fit. | On the bottom is the Front... On the bottom is the Front Radius Rod Arm with Pedders EP6560 steel-jacketed urethane bushing pressed in. The upper arm is the Pedderised Front Control Arm with Pedders EP6561 installed. According to the company, the combination of the EP6560, EP6561, the 5421 eXtreme Castor Washers, and the EP2112 Steering Rack Bushings produce razor sharp steering in a G8. | This is the G8 Radius Rod... This is the G8 Radius Rod Arm with the O.E. glycol-filled hydraulic-damped steel jacketed bushing still in place. |
Pedders' 26mm front sway bar... Pedders' 26mm front sway bar flanges are much larger than the O.E. 23 mm bar to accommodate the four adjustment holes. The farther you move away from the fulcrum of the bar (i.e. the longer the swing arm), the softer the bar, or the greater the motion of the body. The G8 will use the third hole, one away from maximum control. This setting keeps the car neutral front to rear. | Front sway bar installation... Front sway bar installation requires that the six front subframe bolts be removed, along with the motor mount nuts. The engine is supported by the transmission jack. Colt inserts the new sway bar from the passenger-side of the vehicle, while Pete pulls from the driverside. (When installing a sway bar, twisting the bar is a common motion. Watch your fingers when the bar is being twisted as there is a lot of leverage being exerted.) | The black O.E. steering rack... The black O.E. steering rack mount is more pliable than the new Pedders urethane mount. Holding the steering rack more firmly to the front subframe assembly means that steering wheel inputs will be more precise and there will be more road feel through the steering wheel, but not so much as to be objectionable. |
