After 24 hours drying time, a guidecoat was lightly fogged on the body to easily identify low spots and sanding scratches when wet sanding. The entire shell was wet sanded using 400 grit and then 800 grit to ensure a smooth and straight surface. It was then cleaned with Kosmic Kleaner, and while it was wet with Kleaner, the straightness of each panel was checked again by looking at its reflection.
