Small-Bore SlugsEgge's new... Small-Bore SlugsEgge's new Pontiac 326 pistons are made specifically for '63 to '67 Pontiac 326 engines. They are cast from A-332 aluminum; come in standard bore of 0.020-, 0.030-, 0.040-, and 0.060-over sizes; have a wristpin diameter of 0.980 inch; and are available in a variety of compression ratios. Egge designed the double-almond valve pockets on the piston heads with sharp cuts to minimize "pocket turbulence" in the combustion chamber and "grip the burst," according to the company. Prices range from $360 to $399 (per set of eight). Egge Machine and Speed Shop; (800) 866-3443; www.egge.com. | Wipe Power New Port Engineering... Wipe Power New Port Engineering announces the Clean Wipe wiper drive, a new heavy-duty wiper motor for '67-'69 Firebirds. Its compact size frees up engine-bay room, it bolts directly to the factory brackets, and it connects to the stock wiper-transmission linkage arms. The basic kit includes a two-speed switch and wiring harness. Options include an intermittent delay switch, a washer pump kit, and a shaft extension kit designed to work with the original knob and bezel. The price is $210 (basic kit), $67 (delay switch), $25 (washer pump), and $16 (shaft extension kit). Striking StrikerTotally Stainless door striker bolts for First-Gen Firebirds and A-bodies are built in the U.S. They are made from 17-4 heat-treated stainless steel, are stronger than grade 8, and have a Rockwell hardness of 45, which will help slow down wear. The special OEM-style washers screw onto the bolts and are dimensionally identical to the originals. The price is $30 (per pair). Measure Your CC'sPowerhouse Products' new Pro Head CC buret can accurately and easily help you measure cylinder-head combustion-chamber volume. It can also be used to measure the volume of intake and exhaust runners, intake manifolds, or cylinders. The easy-to-read scales are marked in 0.2cc increments (except the 250cc model) and read out the amount poured. Each kit includes a precision glass buret with integral petcock, a stand and clamp assembly, a flat plexiglass plate to cover the combustion chamber, and instructions on how to properly cc cylinder heads. Now there's no reason not to know your exact compression ratio. The price is $120 for 50cc and 100cc, and $220 for 250cc. Spot RemovalHTP America introduces Spot Mill, a tool that simplifies the removal of spot welds without damaging both panels. This unique device features a hardened cobalt-steel bullet-point drill bit, similar to that used in a Bridgeport milling machine. Depth can be adjusted with the built-in adjustment ring so that the tool can be set to only cut through the outer panel, and it isn't necessary to have access to both sides of the panel to remove spot welds. Spot Mill comes in a rugged molded case, with four replacement cutting bits, a regulator, and an oiler. The price is $450. HTP America Inc.; (800) 872-9353; www.usaweld.com. | |
