This is typical of several 2D tables that control things like cold-start and accelerator-enrichment functions. The idle-speed versus coolant-temp table allows the tuner to raise the cold idle speed and set the rate that speed returns to normal as the engine warms up. The FAST system's built-in... The FAST system's built-in data logger is an extremely useful tuning tool. It will record data from up to 14 sensors, and allow the owner or tuner to save that data and replay and study any part of it in close detail. It literally will allow the saving and replaying of an entire quarter-mile run, dyno pull, or a period of time just out cruising, so the owner or tuner can scrutinize exactly what is going on with the engine. During the tuning session... During the tuning session at Wheeler Dyno Services, both the usual info from the SuperFlow 901 dyno and the telemetry coming from the FAST ECU are monitored simultaneously. Certainly all of the incoming data can look a little overwhelming to a novice tuner, but by watching an experienced tuner and dyno operator break it down and take it step by step, one can quickly see the enormous amount of control that electronic fuel injection can provide. EFI tuner Travis Quillen is on the left, and Wheeler Dyno Service owner and operator Jeff Fiala is on the right.
