Percy's tire simulator wire is then carefully measured with a millimeter tape and adjusted to equal the 285mm cross section (11.22 inches). Using a tape measure, a reading is taken from the center of the hub to the top of the simulated cross section of wire. Since the tire dimensions were 26.97 inches (approximately 26 31/32), half of that diameter is 13.485 inches (approximately 13 15/32).
