Suspension Kits Manufactured
Global West manufactures the following "build your own" kits:
• Street performance
• Autocross/open track
Fits the Following Models
'82-'92 Firebird and Trans Am
Features (Customers may choose any of the following)
• Coil springs (rates vary)
• Sway bars (solid: 1.375-inch front, 1-inch rear; tubular 1.25-inchfront, 1-inch rear)
• Del-a-lum bushings
• Subframe connectors
• Front frame brace
• Tubular control arms (Quiet Ride)
• Torque arm kits (Traclink)
• Antisquat kits
• Rear adjustable Panhard bar (also known as a track bar)
Benefits According to the Manufacturer
• All suspension components are designed to work together
• Increased corner entry and corner exit speeds (Traclink)
• Driver confidence is greatly improved
• New alignment specifications are given for further improvement in handling, as well as reduced uneven tire wear
• Del-a-lum bushings perform like a bearing rather than a bushing; they are fully greasable and can be used for all performance applications
• Springs lower the car 1 inch and are available with different rates based on application (not one spring rate fits all uses)
• Combinations specified for different applications are based on actual racing experience (GW's tech support will gladly help with your needs)
• Adjustable Panhard rod allows you to recenter the rearend after lowering
• Three different rear control arms are available, including the new Quiet Ride rear lower arm, which provides greater isolation from road noise and still achieves impeccable street performance
• Antisquat brackets correct the rear lower control arm angle after lowering the car; this kit is also used in drag racing to increase traction
• Traclink system leverages the tire into the pavement during acceleration unlike the factory torque arm; Traclink wasspecifically designed for autocross and road-racing applications, however, it is perfect for performance street driving
• Front frame brace strengthens the frame against tearing at the steering box location
• All components are bolt-on (except the subframe connectors)
• Round-tube subframe connectors provide additional strength to the unibody without sacrificing ground clearance
• The subframe locates directly to the bulkhead area front and rear, which helps tie a four- or six-point rollcage to the subframe
