This got me thinking, as I work for GM in St. Catharines on the assembly line, let's protest! So I phoned a good friend in the U.S., who is a very knowledgeable person in the Pontiac hobby. "Come on," I said. "Let's get the people on buses and head for Detroit!" His response was a small chuckle, and he told me the decision came from Washington. Pontiac was no longer seen as a green car. Performance is a dirty word!
Since the announcement, I see a few people have created "Save Pontiac" groups. I guess the message I'm trying to convey is that if we don't try to fight back, the division may truly be lost. The fact that GM didn't sell Pontiac may be the light at the end of the tunnel.
There are many people around the world who are loyal to the Pontiac brand. What will they purchase the next time they need a new vehicle? My guess is it won't be a Chevy or a Buick. It might not even be a GM product. Perhaps we'll see our beloved PMD division brought back when the economy improves. Please let your readership know where they can fight back.

Please send your emails of protest regarding Pontiac's demise to tom.demauro@sorc.com. We will collect and forward them to GM and the U.S. Senators from Michigan, Carl Levin, and Debbie Stabenow.
Please keep in mind, if we want to get anywhere with this "email writing campaign," we need lots and lots of emails to forward. -Ed.
