Johnny then puts in the new chain and timing gears with the cam installed straight up, matching the dots on the two timing gears, per Trick Flow's recommendation. The timing gear bolts were torqued to 26 ft-lb. The new timing set comes with spacers for the oil pump to clear the thicker chain. We didn't run into any clearance issues with the cover when we put ours back on with our new gasket, but some other LS-engines may, since the spacers move the oil pump closer to the cover. The oil pump bolts were torqued to 18 ft-lb, and the oil pan bolts were reinstalled and torqued to 106 in-lb.
