LS2 GTO Heads And Cam Install
|
After the heads were torqued down, Johnny dunked his hand into the oil-filled bucket and fished out the rockers in pairs. The 7.500-inch Trick Flow hardened pushrods were dropped in and the rockers were placed in their appropriate locations. He rotated the engine so that the intake and exhaust valves were closed on the No. 1 cylinder and the cam was on the base circle. This removes stress from the valvetrain and will deliver the most accurate torque reading as he torques the supplied 8mm Allen bolts to 24 ft-lb. He repeated the process for each cylinder. Johnny marked the intake/exhaust rockers with a permanent marker so he knew which ones he had done. View Related Article
