Before assembling the whole exhaust system, we cut slots into all the outer slip-joint tube ends where we intended to use (stainless steel) U-bolt-type exhaust clamps. This will allow the pipes to clamp up tight, without overtightening the clamps and distorting/damaging the tubes. View Related Article
