The breather tube connects the air cleaner and valve cover, and it’s an integral part of the PCV system. Depending upon the year and application, the tube can have a dark or bright finish. This tube appears to have a bright zinc finish. The yellow paint daub is likely an assembly line marking that denotes the finished installation of a related component or assembly.
