We can see just how sparsely paint was sometimes applied to the front subframe. On this particular example there’s quite a bit of natural metal exposed and only what’s closest to the road surface received a light coat of semigloss black. Also notice that the bottom of the oil pan lacked sufficient coverage during the engine-painting process. The exhaust system is a one-off, aluminized-replacement that was painstakingly bent to the exact dimensions of the original by a previous owner.
