1974 Pontiac Trans Am Interior And Suspension Color Coding System
|
A color-coding system was applied to the driveshaft (natural finish), which consists of three brushed-on stripes that denote application usage. The orange, white, and yellow paint stripes of this Turbo-400-spec driveshaft measure about 1⁄2-inch wide with a 1⁄2-inch gap between them. The front stripe (orange) is located about 20 inches back from the forward yoke flange. Application color combinations are often listed in the Service Manual for the respective model year.
